So I don't post in a year and now I'm posting all night? I still don't have internet, I'm at moms and can't sleep.

After posting Waylons 1 year picture, I realize I have not really ever posted a picture of him past a week old. So I'll share some of all the boys. They have all gotten so big.

So here are all the boys )I'm sure you can tell who is who...right?

Yep, my boys have mohawks.

The skinny on Gretchen

  • Jul. 4th, 2009 at 3:11 AM
Gretchen

Here's what has happened to lead to the poisoning of my Gretchen.

We have been broken into/ robbed 5 times in 2 1/2 years since we have moved to Jeffersonville. Each and everytime I suspected our neighbors. The last attempted break was three weeks ago and ruined 3 of our doors. I had the lights on timers, the tv was on and we had a car in the drive. To the average joe robbing a random house, it would appear that someone was home and up at whatever time they were planning on breaking and entering. Only our neighbor would know that we were not at home.

A month before that someone tried getting into the garage for the 3rd time but didn't succeed.

Sometime last fall my neighbor gave me our garage door opener.  He claimed he got it from a previous owner. Our guns were stolen from the garage our first summer in the home. The door was not busted in however, the door may not have been locked...thanks to my oh so trusting husband. However, the person who took the guns knew were they were hidden and put everything back in place, which leads to my neighbors. We also suspect the neighbors had been in the garage more than once.

To show what kind of neighbors we have

The day we bought the house, the AC unit from the garage was ripped out of the wall. It is now in my neighbors window.
They rigged the electric meter so they can stop it from turning by drilling a hole in the glass and sticking something in it to block the wheel from turning. They only do that in the off hours so not to get caught.
He had a back hoe that he told Brandon he took from work and they never knew he had it. The motor blew (supposedly) and he parted it out. He was never caught with it.
His son has been busted for pawning items that don't belong to him.
He has hooked his own cable up. I saw him do it and almost took a picture. I should have.

So. Because of this last break in, Grizzly our shelter 'guard dog' barked until he lost his voice. The neighbor never mentioned that the dog barked all weekend, another neighbor told us about it. I wondered why Griz sounded wierd and huffy. The neighbors wife told me that her husband came over to see what Griz was barking about and that they went to the doors and knocked.  So, they knew we were gone because she said she saw us packing up the van and leaving yet she claimed they came to knock on the door. It led me to believe they were trying to cover their asses. So, I called the electric company and turned them in for stealing electricty. I assume they know I'm the one that turned them in. They haven't spoke to us since that Sunday morning that the electric company came to their house and ripped the meter off the house. This Sunday marks two weeks that they haven't had electricty. Brandon and I saw them feed the dogs one day. I said something about it not realizing the source of the food was from them. Brandon saw the neighbor feeding the dogs at the fence and once he realized Brandon was looking, he acted like he was shooing the dogs away.  I kind of joked that they were trying to poison the dogs. I never thought they would two days later.

Another thing that has happened was to my chickens. I got a hen and a rooster last fall and let the hen sit on two eggs which gave me three baby chicks. All of my young chickens have disappeared within the last couple days. All I have is my hen and rooster that I originally had. Not too upsetting to me really, I've got bigger things to deal with right now. I'm sure they've done something to them though. They do kind of roam around so it's hard to tell.

So Gretchen was kill out of retaliation.  All I can think of is what if Gretchen had Waylons toy, (which she did pick up some balls of Waylons from time to time) and she slobbered something onto it and then Waylon put it in his mouth. They could have killed my children. That is all I can think about.

So, I told Levi about Gretchen. I told him that her kidneys were weak and that is what caused her to be sick and then die. He cried and cried, calling her name. It was heart breaking. Still is. Nash understands now and he cries from time to time. They write to her and draw pictures for her. I'm so glad we had a good dog for the boys and I hope they never forget her. I know Nash is young but surely he will remember Gretchen. When I was the boys age we lost our German Shepherd Nuba, who from what I remember was as great a dog as Gretchen. I have fond memories of him at my age now so I'll cross my fingers they will never forget Gretchen.

With this I will close with the message Levi wrote to Gretchen and the drawings Nash made.

Levi wrote, "Gehn I wel mish yu" which = "Gretchen I will miss you"
Nash drew Me, Brandon, Levi and himself on the left and Gretchen is the upside down figure on the right. I think that signifies her in her backyard grave. My boys have such compassion.

Very sad news

Gretchen

Yesterday Gretchen died. She was poisoned. I've got one guess as to who it is. We saw our neighbors who we've been having problems with, feeding her.

I can't explain how I feel. I sat with her at the vet while he was trying to find out what was going on with her. I loved her up and held her. She started having seizures and I knew she was going and it didn't take long. Boy I miss her. She was my daughter dog. We haven't told Levi yet, Nash doesn't understand. Levi will be tore up because they were bestfriends. We are all so sad. Brandon and I burried her with her favorite toy which also was the lid to her dog food bucket. As we know all dogs go to heaven, I hope someone plays fetch with her there :)

We'll miss you Gretchen :(

Sorry I haven't been around. Nash has been diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality. He has a 5 q deletion. I don't know much about it. We have to go to Cincinnatti Childrens Hospital for genetics testing and then I'll learn more.

If you are on facebook, you'll see me more often.

Well our internet may be delayed a little longer. Friday Brandon got a call from work and they have laid him off for good. I'll still have access at school but I don't know how much of my time I'll be spending in lj though. I've pretty much got to do my work and head home to Waylon because he won't suck on a bottle or cup at all and my pump isn't working very good.

I've lost several friends since I've been offline so if you want to drop me for being inactive go ahead. I'll understand. I will be around and just because I'm not making entries doesn't mean that I'm not on looking around from time to time.

Please keep us in your prayers. I have high hopes for Brandon finding another job but he'll never make the money he was making until the economy is better and people start buying more cars. I do get to delay Waylon going to daycare for at least another month. The main thing is insurance, we no longer have any and I've got a killer sinus infection and both my ears are infected. I can get the kids on a medical card but I guess I'll just have to tough mine out and hope it goes away soon.

With all that, I'm gone. I hope everyone watches Obama being sworn in tomorrow. No cable in my house means I miss this historic event :(. I just hope he can pull us out of this depression. I hope nobody else on my f-list is experiencing what we have this past year.

With my stepdad going to Iraq soon, my Mom is planning on meeting him while he is on leave, in Germany. I don't know where she will be staying, but I ran across Cheaperthanhotels.

I am going to guess and say Mom will be going to Frankfurt so that is the area I was looking at on Cheaperthanhotels. There are pages of hotels listed. They list the hotels at 1-4 stars and shows pictures of the rooms. I have to say that I am shocked at how nice the 1 star hotel was. It goes on to talk about dining and shopping in Frankfurt. There are some "Current Hot Deals" listed.

If I were to go, I think I would have to stick with something I knew and go to the Holiday Inn. Even thought it doesn't look like any Holiday Inn I've ever seen. You can even schedule a car rental from Cheaperthanhotels but I'm not sure I'd go that route. I was a little confused at the different currency. I'll have to check out what one dollar is equal to in Germany.

When mom goes to Germany, I'll have to tell her to bring me another German Shepherd home :^)

Jersey City

My husband and I never got to go on a honeymoon when we got married. We've been planning on going somewhere this summer. He wants to go to Gatlinburg, again. I want something new. I've been looking for some places that might be out of our comfort zone but, would end up being a chance of a life time.

I think I found our honeymoon. Its all online at Destinationjerseycity.com. You can pretty much plan your entire trip while sitting at your computer. You can plan ferry rides, helicopter tours and fine dining. I would really love to get out that little black dress and check out some of the live entertainment.

Destinationjerseycity.com also lists several parks in the area. And because we are from a small town, I'm sure we will have to relax in a familliar setting. I didn't think that Jersey City could possibly have 1,500 acres of parks! That sounds great seeing how we will probably end up taking at least one of the boys with us.

I'm getting very excited. I think I'm going to Destinationjerseycity.com and book my hotel right away!

Online Dating?

I met my husband almost four years ago, thanks to my cousin. For some reason she thought her purpose in life was to find me a mate, and my son a father. If I knew that she was looking for my Prince Charming online, I would have never agreed to meet up with him. Brandon turned out to be my perfect mate. Up to now, I've never told anyone that I met my husband online. I thought that it was a bad thing. Now I know it is the easiest way to find a partner, especially if you use JustSayHi.

Unless you have a crazy family member that is on a mission to find you a perfect mate, you'll have to do it yourself. JustSayHi
looks like it would be right for anyone. First of all, its FREE. I've seen some other online dating sites that let you put in a profile but make you pay to view other site members. JustSayHi allows you to view anyone that posts a profile. You can search for people by city or state. They have a message board, active fourms, polls and surveys.

I would recommend anyone that is single and running a busy life, check out JustSayHi. You never know, you might find your soul mate there waiting on you!

Blog for fun or profit

dHas anyone heard of blogsvertise? Thanks to [info]sm00bs for bringing it up! I've been reading on the website and I am really considering doing it. Why not help someone out by doing what I'm already doing *shrugs*

So far, from what I've read on blogsvertise, all you have to do is make a post in your journal that is public about a website they give you. You're advertising for the site. They pay you for it via paypal. I'm not sure how much money you get for doing this, yet. But, I know most of everyone on my friends list are moms and who couldn't use the extra cash for soccor or t-ball? Heaven knows my bank account can use some extra dough!
I would strongly urge everyone to go to blogsvertise and at least check it out for yourself. It couldn't hurt. Who knows, you might find your new calling - no thanks to me.
